Lodging and Visitor Information Weather mid-August is typically in the 80s (F) and sunny during the day. Nights are much cooler; a light jacket or sweater is appropriate. Hotel Information This link on the Stanford University website list hotels surrounding the campus. The Sheraton, Westin, and Stanford Terrace Inn are the closest hotels to campus. Reservations well in advance are advised. Campus Housing Information This link on the Stanford University Summer Conference website gives detailed information about Campus Housing and allows symposium attendees to apply online. YOU MUST APPLY AHEAD OF TIME. Please read these instructions before going to the link. After you've reached the above link, Scroll down to the subhead: Application Procedures Click on the 'online application' link in the text Click on Conference Attendee. Enter password 425hot. Fill out the information and submit the application. Print the deposit form and fax it to their office. You will receive an e-mail confirmation after they process the deposit. It will include the check-in location and the website of a map to print which will show where to check-in. Rates $47.25/night for single occupancy $33.25/night per person for shared occupancy The Residence Office hours: (where you check-in) 8 am - 10 pm weekdays 10 am - 10 pm on weekends The standard check in time is from 3:00 pm If you arrive outside these hours, there will be a notice posted on the door next to the campus phone with the number to contact the person on duty. If you arrive early and the room isn't ready, you will have to wait. Residences are about a 15 minute walk to Memorial Auditorium. HOT Chips has no authority or involvement with on-campus housing.
