Parking
Free Parking for HOT CHIPS 16 Attendees is located at the North East corner of Galvez and Campus Drives. Please see driving directions below. On Sunday, during the tutorials, parking is free in any parking lot.

Directions to HOT CHIPS Parking and Conference
From Highway 101 North & South
Take Embarcadero Road exit west toward Stanford. Embarcadero Rd becomes Galvez St as you enter the campus at the El Camino Real border. Bear left at first fork in the road towards center of campus.
Free Conference Parking on the corner of Galvez and Campus Drives. Continue walking down Galvez to Serra Street. Turn right. Memorial Hall entrance is across from Hoover Tower on Serra Street in front of the fountain.
From Highway 280 North & South
Exit Sand Hill Road east toward Stanford. Continue east, turning right at the traffic light on Santa Cruz Avenue. Make an immediate left onto Junipero Serra Boulevard. Turn left at the second stoplight, Campus Drive East. Continue around Campus Drive East and turn left when you reach Serra Street, at the gas station. Follow Serra Street until it ends at Galvez Street. Turn right and continue to next intersection at Campus Drive. Turn left to enter
Free Conference Parking lot at the corner of Galvez and Campus Drives. Continue walking down Galvez to Serra Street. Turn right. Memorial Hall entrance is across from Hoover Tower on Serra Street in front of the fountain.
Driving/Walking From University Avenue in downtown Palo Alto
Cross El Camino Real on University Avenue. Drive/walk toward the hills (away from the center of Palo Alto). As you enter Stanford, University Avenue becomes Palm Drive.
If you are driving, go through one traffic light, and turn left onto Campus Drive at the first stop sign. U-Turn at Galvez Street to enter the Free Conference Parking lot at Galvez and Campus Drives. Continue walking down Galvez to Serra Street. Turn right. Memorial Hall entrance is across from Hoover Tower on Serra Street in front of the fountain.
If you are walking, continue straight down Palm Drive, through the Oval. Bear left at end of Oval parking lot toward Hoover Tower. Memorial Hall is located across from the fountain in front of Hoover Tower.
Public Transportation

Stanford Housing
Conference attendees can apply for campus housing by visiting the Stanford's Summer Housing for Stanford Visitor's web site.
Attendees must apply ahead of time, not when they arrive on campus!
Steps to apply for Stanford On-campus Housing:
- After you've reached the above link, scroll down to the subhead: Conference Attendees under Application Procedures. Click on Hot Chips and Hot Interconnects link.
- Enter password 425hot.
- Fill out the information and submit the application.
- Print the deposit form and fax it to their office. You will receive an e-mail confirmation after they process the deposit. It will include the check-in location and the website of a map to print which will show where to check-in.
Rates are $47.25/night for single occupancy, and $33.25/night per person for shared occupancy. Please verify rates before signing up.
The Residence Office hours are: (where you check-in)
- 8 am - 10 pm weekdays
- 10 am - 10 pm on weekends
The standard check in time is from 3:00 pm.
If you arrive outside these hours, there will be a notice posted on the door next to the campus phone with the number to contact the person on duty. If you arrive early and the room isn't ready, you will have to wait.
Residences are about a 15 minute walk to Memorial Auditorium.
