Parking and Directions
Free Parking for HOT CHIPS 20 Attendees is located at the North East corner of Galvez and Campus Drives. Please see driving directions below. On Sunday, during the tutorials, parking is free in any parking lot.

Hot Chips Conference Map
From Highway 101 North & South
Take Embarcadero Road exit west toward Stanford. Embarcadero Rd becomes Galvez St as you enter the campus at the El Camino Real border. Bear left at first fork in the road towards center of campus.
Free Conference Parking on the corner of Galvez and Campus Drives. Continue walking down Galvez to Serra Street. Turn right. Memorial Hall entrance is across from Hoover Tower on Serra Street in front of the fountain.
From Highway 280 North & South
Exit Sand Hill Road east toward Stanford. Continue east, turning right at the traffic light on Santa Cruz Avenue. Make an immediate left onto Junipero Serra Boulevard. Turn left at the second stoplight, Campus Drive East. Continue around Campus Drive East and turn left when you reach Serra Street, at the gas station. Follow Serra Street until it ends at Galvez Street. Turn right and continue to next intersection at Campus Drive. Turn left to enter.
Free Conference Parking lot at the corner of Galvez and Campus Drives. Continue walking down Galvez to Serra Street. Turn right. Memorial Hall entrance is across from Hoover Tower on Serra Street in front of the fountain.
Driving/Walking From University Avenue in downtown Palo Alto
Cross El Camino Real on University Avenue. Drive/walk toward the hills (away from the center of Palo Alto). As you enter Stanford, University Avenue becomes Palm Drive.
If you are driving, go through one traffic light, and turn left onto Campus Drive at the first stop sign. U-Turn at Galvez Street to enter the Free Conference Parking lot at Galvez and Campus Drives. Continue walking down Galvez to Serra Street. Turn right. Memorial Hall entrance is across from Hoover Tower on Serra Street in front of the fountain.
If you are walking, continue straight down Palm Drive, through the Oval. Bear left at end of Oval parking lot toward Hoover Tower. Memorial Hall is located across from the fountain in front of Hoover Tower.

There is convenient transportation using the Stanford shuttle from the hotel to points on the campus, including Hot Chips at the Memorial Auditorium.
Stanford's Visitor's Information Services maintains a list of nearby hotels and inns.
Conference attendees can also apply for on-campus housing by visiting the Stanford's Summer Housing for Stanford Visitors site. Reservations well in advanced is advised.
Transportation
Stanford University is roughly located halfway between the San Francisco (SFO) and San Jose (SJC) airports. The university website lists the various public transportation options for travel to and around Stanford campus. For travel in the greater bay area, check out the Transit Info site.
Weather
Mid-August is typically in the 80s (F) /30s (C) and sunny during the day. Nights are much cooler; a light jacket or sweater is appropriate. Check out the weather for Palo Alto before heading out!
